First, on each of the areas to be furnished, determine the amount of brightness and privacy required.
For areas like the living hall, dining room and study, day curtains with materials that are see-through and light-weight are suitable for reducing the glare while providing a small degree of privacy at the same time.
For rooms, such as the children’s, that require natural light and some privacy at the same time, day curtains applied with thermal blackout would be an option.
For rooms like master bedrooms that require a much higher degree of privacy, and for functional rooms like the entertainment room where lighting will affect the quality of visual output, night curtains, with a range of materials that can block out up to 100% of the light will be ideal.

As all orders at Akoni are custom-made, it is important the window measurements are accurately taken according to the instructions provided on our website.  Please follow through the instructions as given in our Measurement Guide which can be found on this website.

Once we received your order online, we will verify that your selected material, items and accessories are available and a reservation of stocks will be made. Our office will contact you within 5 working days for a detailed site measurement in order to verify the window measurements provided by you. This service is offered free for all customers who have placed their orders with us. Once the measurements are taken, subsequent orders for the same purpose will unlikely require further site visits.

Payment has to be made online using the Paypal facility provided. To use Paypal, credit cards such as VISA and MASTER, will be required.

If the final cost is lower than what has been paid, you will be refunded for the difference.  If the final cost is higher than what has been paid, you will be required to pay the difference by cash or cheque.

The conditions and colour of the curtains are subject to wear and tear over prolonged period of use and constant exposure to sun.  However, with proper care, Akoni’s curtains are highly durable and should last for years. Curtains should be washed regularly using a gentle detergent under a water temperature of 30-40 degrees Celsius, and may  be steam-ironed.  Note, however, that some curtain materials will shrink after washing.  Another option is to send for professional cleaning.

What your computer portrays to you depends on the screen’s calibration, colour and display settings, which may be slightly different when compared to the actual material.  We recommend that you ask a free sample to be sure it is the colour that you want. 

You may change the color, or item, or size so long as the materials have not been cut.  However, depending on the materials chosen, any changes to your order may affect the price and production time.

All our collection is made available on the website.  By operating online and sourcing directly from Singapore and worldwide, we cut down on middlemen, shop rental and frontline staffing costs.  This also means that there is no brick-and-mortar showroom like a traditional curtain store.
